CNC Maintenance Technician / Maintenance Engineer

Our client is a leading medical device manufacturer. The company is based in North-West Sydney. Due to the business expansion, they are now seeking to employ a full-time Maintenance Service Fitter (CNC Machine Repair Technician/CNC Fitter). This opportunity is located in Sydney.        

Due to continued expansion, the company is seeking to employ a full time fully qualified CNC repair technician. The technician should be a specialist mechanical Maintenance Service Technician, with specialization in CNC machine fitting, repairs, and maintenance. The ideal candidate should have strong knowledge and at least 3 years experience of in CNC troubleshooting, automation experience, as well as experience in mechanical and electrical troubleshooting and repair.  


  • Repair & fitting to company CNC machines, in particular:
    o    I42U Quicktech 10 axes Mill/Turn machines
    o    Hartford 5 axes Machining centres
    o    Q10 Quicktech 5 axes Machining centre
    o    Goodway SL 20 Sliding head lathe
    o    Deco 10 sliding head lathe
    o    Aka CNC Grinding machine
    o    OGP CMM measuring machines
    o    Citizen E20 Lathe
  • Performs maintenance of all production equipment, with little or no supervision, using new and existing methods, policies and procedures.
  • Performs work of complex and detailed nature.
  • Maintains a safe, clean, and organized work area.
  • Follows Tagout procedures and all other company safety policies.
  • Assures and maintains a consistent, acceptable level of individual quality and performance.
  • May be required to work in other departments or on other shifts, as directed by the workshop manager
  • Assists in the training of new employees.
  • Assists in the development and implementation of preventative maintenance programs.
  • Assists in the storage, disposal and handling of all hazardous materials.


  • Trade qualified as a Fitter/Turner
  • CNC Programming and operation (cutting, lathes, drilling, milling, machining etc) experience particularly with Quicktech, Hartford, Goodway, Deco, Aka & Citizen CNC machines or similar machines
  • Attention to detail and quality workmanship
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics
  • Significant knowledge of CNC machines
  • Ability to work autonomously
  • Ability to diagnose and solve problems

This position is responsible for the maintenance of CNC machines along with other plant machinery and facilities support equipment, including general maintenance duties. The CNC Maintenance Technician will perform machine repairs as well as preventative, predictive and routine maintenance.
