5. Eureka Skydeck
The Eureka Skydeck is centrally located in Melbourne and a great way to soak up a great view of Melbourne and get a feel for the city. Located on Level 88 in the summit of the tower, the skydeck is the highest public vantage point in Melbourne, Australia and the Southern Hemisphere.
Up on the Skydeck you can see the magnificent 360 degree views through floor to ceiling glass windows, from the CBD to the Dandenong Ranges and across Port Phillip Bay. Prices start from $18 for adults.
4. Yarra Valley Wineries Tour
Overlooked by many, a winery tour is such a great day out. Get a group of mates together, and visit the many wineries located in the Yarra Valley. The region is probably one of Australia’s most famous wine making regions so be sure to bring a few bottles back after your day out.
If you’re organised you can hire a car and get a designated driver, otherwise jump on a tour and take all the guesswork out.
3. Phillip Island
Penguins in Australia, yes there is! Phillip Island is home of the World largest little penguin colony and every evening you can see them make their way to the shore.
There’s heaps of other things to do in Phillip Island including surfing, visiting the Koala Conservation Centre or taking a hot air balloon ride around the island. If you’re into Motorsports the V8 Super cars, World Superbikes and Moto GP also visit the island each year.
The Island is 140km from Melbourne, which means it’s easily accessible for a day trip or a couple nights stay, whatever you prefer.

Arguably the sports capital of the world, Melbourne is home to the Australian Open, Grand Prix, AFL, Cricket, Rugby, Soccer and the list goes on. When visiting melbourne make sure to get down to the MCG. If you’re around in summer check out a cricket game or in winter get to a blockbuster AFL game where you’ll find upto 95,000 people in the stadium cheering on every bounce.
The Australian Open, which is on right now, is a crowd favourite too, there’s something to do for everyone, even if you don’t like tennis, visit the Heineken Beer garden where you can drink beer and soak up the atmosphere until your heart is content.

The Iconic Great Ocean Road, rated as one of the most beautiful coastal drives in Australia, if not the world, no trip to Melbourne would be complete without a visit to this amazing stretch of coast. Spanning from Angelsea to Apollo Bay the breathtaking views, beautiful scenery and rugged coastline will leave you in awe of the regions beauty.
Along the great ocean road you’ll find some of Australia’s most famous surf beaches from Bells Beach to Jan Juc. You can also journey through the luscious surrounds of the Otway rainforest with some of the tallest eucalyptus trees in Australia. Or try Shipwreck Coast, stroll along the historic beaches and see Loch Ard Gorge. The list goes on, visit the 12 Apostles and descend the Gibsons Steps where you will be dwarfed by the high cliff line and these enormous offshore stacks.
