The dried, white, and grayish-brown fruit of a tiny, thin annual plant is called cumin seeds. The fruit’s surface is covered in five main ridges, as well as four less noticeable minor ridges that are covered in many short hairs. Plant height ranges from 15 to 50 cm. The fragrant fruit resembles a seed and is elongated, oval, and between 3 and 6 mm long. It tastes warm and is somewhat bitter. The tiny umbels of blooms are pink or white in color.
