Judge Caroline Marie Quinn

What is a bizarre and tragic story an Irish working holiday maker, Caroline Marie Quinn has been granted bail to go home to Ireland after her she allegedly concealed the birth of her baby who later died of natural courses.

Australian Law

Australian law requires all births to be reported, even when a baby does die of natural causes. Caroline Marie Quinn’s bail application was approved by the Perth Magistrates court today so she could be with her family while the case is being prepared. The maximum penalty for concealing a birth is two years jail.

What Happened?

It is reported that the 25 year old backpacker gave birth to the baby in Halls Creek in the Kimberly Region. A not so travelled but popular region for Working Holiday Makers and backpackers alike. She had been travelling Australia since May but had not realized she had fallen pregnant .

There is a committal hearing scheduled for October 2nd where Quinn will reappear. We will keep you updated on the matter.
